Family

Ever wonder if families are similiar?
I have two.
my own from birth and my husbands.
and they are both so different I guess the beginning of this has already answered itself.

my point was, or question was……….could there possibly be a family out there like mine?
I have five sisters and one brother and while we aren’t all as close as we once were….we do keep in touch for the most part.
however there are resentments.

things we can say to one sibling and not to another.

things one sibling may want me to say to another that they won’t say themselves to that same person.

are all families this way?

Take for instance this story.

I had an arguement with one of my sisters and basically told her how I felt about a choice she had made.
Now my other sisters felt the same way as I did, but instead of being truthful, they sympathized with this certain sister to her face, and bad mouthed her behind her back.
This sister I will call Carol, up holds honesty about all else.
She hates liars.
So….instead of lying to her and talking bad about her behind her back  I told her how I honestly felt.
She of course felt like I was betraying her and kicking her while she was down.
Her words.
I was the bad ass.
The unsympathic one.
And the others kept right on being sympathetic to her face and talked bad about her behind her back.

Now I ask you, who was right?
That is a question I ponder.
Do all families go through this?

This isn’t the first time “Carol” and I have had a falling out of sorts.
Maybe I’m just too honest?
Maybe I should learn to pretend I approve of her choices to her face and talk trash about her behind her back?

How does one know?

My husband’s family rarely talk to eachother.
They all live in the same city and go weeks without even aknowledging eachother.

so I’m curious……what are other families like out there?
