hanging with friends

a friend of mine, has mentioned going to Chicago for some Christmas shopping.
She wants to do it in late November and I told her I would prefer to go before November first because my daughter in law will be giving birth before the middle of November.
So I’m not sure we are going to go.
I mentioned to her that maybe we could just go to Wisconsin for a day and she wasn’t saying no to that but she didn’t say yes either.

The House on the Rock is in Wisconsin and I thought it might be fun to do it.

Although Wisconsin is a day trip and not a few nights away from family and just us girls hanging out.

Of course since I talked to her  yesterday I thought, hey we could go to Gatlinburg Tennessee and hike in the Smokey’s too.
I haven’t mentioned it to her yet though

Or we could go to Fall Creek Falls too, which is in Tennessee too

Not sure she would be up for it.

But whatever we end up doing, it will be nice to hang out with her and maybe one or two other women we use to work with.

It is all up to her of course since she suggested Christmas shopping in Chicago and she might not be too interested in any where else.

losing weight

Two weeks tomorrow I will have given up pop

Two weeks and I still miss it every day.
But on the plus side I have lost four pounds since I have not been drinking that sugar stuff.

So at least I am heading in the right direction.

wedding bliss

the bride looked beautiful and the groom looked handsome and as I write this they are jetting off to the Virgin Islands for a week in the sand and surf.
IT was a very pretty wedding.

they looked to be truly in love and had a hard time keeping their eyes off of each other.
It is nice to see young love so enthralled with each other that nothing else seems to exist.
I hope they have dozens and dozens of years together and are happy.

God please bless this young couple.

Wedding Day

Well tomorrow my young niece gets married.
Hard to believe she is old enough but she is almost 21 so I guess she is old enough.
I honestly hope it is everything she wants and hopes the marriage to be and that they last for forever.
She is a beautiful young woman and she deserves the best out of life.

giving up pop

I have been off pop for ten days now.
I miss it, and wish I could have one but I think it is better for me, better for my dieting if I just don’t drink any of it

kind of like going cold turkey, I have to do it because otherwise I just keep gaining weight

I went eleven months here a few years ago…..eleven months without drinking any pop.
I know why I started drinking again because water can just be plain boring…..but….I can’t seem to lose weight when I drink pop.

so I’m going to try it again.

I do drink one glass of sugared ice tea a day so….maybe that helps the desire for pop?

cleaning bug

I came home from work with the cleaning bug.
I got the bathroom cleaned and all the walls washed down and the kitchen cleaned and all the walls washed down and then my son and his family came over and I made supper for them.
So now I have lost the desire to clean.

Hopefully I will get it back tomorrow afternoon.

I have to clean and vacuum out the car tomorrow night for  the wedding on Friday.
I don’t have to do it but the car is a mess so it gives me an extra excuse to do it.

It needs done.
For someone who use to clean her car inside and out every weekend, I have become quite slack in cleaning it.
It is lucky if it gets cleaned twice a year now….

since I began cleaning for the school district my cleaning abilities every where else has just died.
What can I say?
I’m just lazy.

I need to do some yard work and I plan on getting to that this weekend.
I have the whole weekend off, which I’m sure I have mentioned already this week.
But I’m looking forward to it immensely.

so anyway happy hump day to one and all…..

what’s for supper?

I just asked Keira what she wanted for supper and she said “CHEESE!!!”

I told her, you have to have more then just cheese for supper…..

so I have to figure out what to fix her and Mirielle.
I don’t have a clue because I am not really hungry…..but since they are here, I will need to feed them……..

what is the world coming to?

my sister got to talking to me today about the great depression and what if that should happen again?
I told her talk about a depressing subject!!!
I don’t really want to think of those  kind of things.
Things that could happen and might happen.

to have to live with out the things we are use to having.
And granted America is a spoiled country.
I know I am spoiled with the things I have.
four TV’s , a car and a truck….my books that I feel like I have to have…..

my little corner of the world has many things that I don’t NEED but want.
My sister was talking about how in the depression how they had to live with the bare necessities in life and didn’t have any of the toys we have now.

and I asked her what do we really need?
A roof over our heads, heat, water, food.
What else is there?

she is a diabetic so she would need insulin, but really when it all comes down to what do we need, what would it be?
It is a serious thing to think about……

and let’s hope we never have to find out….
