I always consider myself a full time Nana.
I adore my grand daughters and would lay down my life for any one of them.
However this week I am going to really be FULL TIME Nana because my son and his wife are going to Chicago this week for their anniversary (tomorrow) so I will have their daughters until Thursday evening.
I have had them both for 48 hours before but never this long without a break.
I love them dearly but I won’t lie, 48 hours is usually long enough and I am ready for a break.
My exceptionally wonderful Keira is hitting her terrible twos a bit late, she just turned three and is really starting to be defiant and sassy.

I have never spanked her but I have threatened to.

My beautiful Kayla is so sweet and generally a happy baby but she is spoiled and needs attention most of the time.
She is getting better about playing on the floor by herself but still she needs a lot of attention.

I don’t mean to come across as complaining or whining.
I love those two more then I love my own life and I know all three grand daughters are true gifts from my Heavenly Father.
I just hope and pray I have the patience for this and that it is a good week.

My daughter in law says Keira gets sick every time my husband and I go on vacation and to be honest with you, she does.
Not sure why but it does happen.
Anyway the last time she left the state to go to Colorado with her uncle, Keira got sick too so…….

They will only be in Illinois and Wisconsin, not so far away but…..I hope both girls stay healthy.

You will have your hands full!
Gosh, I stopped at one child, I thought taking care of a child was the hardest job on earth. I had a hi-tech career which helped because I could rest at my desk for about 6-8 hours a day. I had to get up at 5 AM, leave for work 8AM, come home couple of times during the day unannounced to look after the boy and the sitter, come home and help cook dinner around 5-6 PM, then do all that needed to be done, and bed time was usually 11PM. I don’t know how I did it. I am now retired and can’t get anything done.

Have you asked a DR about “Keira gets sick every time” when you leave? Not meaning to compare Keira to a dog here, but I thought maybe kids are the same way – immune system in both: My dog gets sick when I’m gone, he is really too attached to me, or if I have to groom him: he gets belly ache, loose stool, lack of appetite, ear infections, and almost always a stomache rash which gets infected. Also any drastic change in diet makes my dog sick. My son used to get sick if he ate too many sweets.

The little ones will keep you young longer! No pain no gain!!! Have fun – for 5 more days!
